£2800 donated to the Wilton & Barford CofE Primary School!

The Mayor of Wilton, Cllr Ivan Seviour was delighted to have been able to present the Headteacher Mr Richard Boase with a cheque for £2800 on Friday. 

The money was raised through the Mayor’s Appeal for 2019-2020 to be put towards a bespoke outdoor learning/play area at Wilton CE Primary School where Ivan has been Chair of Governors for the last 2 years.

The Headteacher and staff at the school felt that such a facility was really needed for pupil wellbeing and to support the development of the new curriculum. It is hoped that the outdoor area will be installed during the later part of the summer holidays and be ready for the new school year in September.

COVID-19 has affected us all in recent months and to have a new facility at the school where pupils can spend quality learning time outside and help to improve wellbeing will be invaluable.

Cllr Seviour managed to raise the money through a variety of events such as the Mayor’s Art Sale, Prize Bingo, Pub Quiz, Wilton Town Trail Quiz etc….., Cllr Seviour is delighted with the amount raised and thanks everyone who helped with the various events.
