π½ Toilets Closed πͺ
Due to a flooding issue identified this afternoon, we have had to temporarily close the gents toilet in the town centre.
We hope to have the cause of the flooding identified and repaired in time to reopen the toilets for the weekend.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused
π Happy 593rd Birthday! π
Today is the 593rd anniversary of one of our Town Charters.
Signed by King Henry VI on 1st July 1433, this is the second charter he issued to Wilton during his reign.

π Wilton Fire Station`s Future π
Yesterday, the Fire & Rescue Authority met to vote on the future of 8 Fire Stations across Dorset & Wiltshire, including the station here in Wilton.
Authority members voted to keep all 8 stations open, subject to a series of financial conditions being met.
The main condition is for Government approval to increase the Fire & Rescue precept in 2027/28.
The authority also approved the continuation of its wider modernisation programme, a sign that significant changes to the service remain on the table.
Across the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service area, 6188 people responded to the public consultation, with over 85% in favour of keeping stations open. Over 1200 people attended the public meetings held across the region. Thank you to everyone who took the time to have their say.
While our Fire Station remains open for now, senior fire officers, the authorityβs leadership team and local MPs will be lobbying the fire minister and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to secure the financial support needed.
The authority will set its budget, and confirm whether the required funding conditions have been met, in February 2027. Without this additional funding, the closure plans for Wilton and the other seven stations will likely go ahead next year.
