🗞Visited over 40 local independent businesses to discuss inclusion on our Visit Wilton web pages, aiming to increase visitors to the town.
🎄 Met with the Christmas Lights project group to discuss the tenders received and proposals to be put forward to Full Council at Monday's meeting.
🚮 Installed two new bins: 1 at Bulbridge Park and 1 at Castle Meadow.
🚾 Continued our discussions for the refurbishment of the town centre public toilets ahead of the proposals going to Full Council on Monday evening.
🌷 D-Day Anniversary - Tomorrow🌷

On 6th June 1944, the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord took place during the Second World War.

Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day (after the military term), it is the largest seaborne invasion in history. The operation began the liberation of France and the rest of Western Europe, and laid the foundations for the Allied victory on the Western Front.

Wilton House was requisitioned as the Southern Command headquarters for the area and found itself at the very centre of what was to be described as the ‘greatest organisational achievement of the war’.

We will be flying the Union Flag in the Market Square over the weekend to mark this anniversary.

At our cemetery, there are thirteen Commonwealth War Graves, commemorated by a plaque inside the gatehouse in remembrance of all those servicemen of Wilton who gave their lives for their country.
⭐️ Thankful Thursday ⭐️

This week is National Volunteer Week, and we want to thank all those who volunteer their time to make Wilton an amazing place to live, work and play!

Whether you help at a local youth group, look after our Speed Indicator Devices, volunteer at the carnival, help care for the town's plants, give up your time to be one of our Flood Wardens or take part in any of the other multitude of volunteering activities that take place around the town...

Thank you!
