πŸš€ 1 Week Til Wilton Heads Out of This World! πŸš€

There's just one week to go until Wilton Carnival blasts off at Castle Meadows! We're counting down the days now! πŸ•–

We’ll be joining in with the Procession, which leaves the Market Square at 1pm, and we’ll have a stand at the Carnival too!

The day is set to be stellar, with live music, a funfair, a dog show, street food, and so much moreβ€”there’s even a magic show and an interstellar disco! Check out Wilton Community Carnival on socials for all the cosmic attractions you can look forward to.

A huge thank you to all the cosmic Carnival volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this happen, and to all the stellar sponsors for this year's event. You're all stars! 🌟

We can't wait to see you all on Saturday 4th July! πŸ‘¨β€πŸš€πŸͺ

🌑 Red Heat Warning 🌑

The Met Office has issued a red heat warning for the high temperatures forecast through to 9pm on Thursday. Temperatures are forecast to peak at 37Β°C in Wilton on Thursday.

While many people enjoy warmer summer weather, hot weather can cause some people to become unwell through overheating (becoming uncomfortably hot), dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke.

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ If you are going to do a physical activity (for example exercise or walking the dog), plan to do these during times of the day when it is cooler such as the early morning or the evening

🏠 Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun

πŸ₯›Drink plenty of fluids and limit your alcohol intake

πŸ‘΅ Check on family, friends and neighbours who may be at higher risk of becoming unwell, and if you are at higher risk, ask them to do the same for you

πŸ₯΅ Know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke and what to do if you or someone else has them

β˜€οΈ Try to avoid direct sunlight, especially between 11am and 3pm when UV levels are highest.

πŸ‘’If you are going out during this time, cover up with suitable clothing, wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses, seek shade and apply sunscreen liberally and re-apply frequently
