Christmas in Wilton
Kick off the festive season in style at Wilton’s Christmas Lights Switch-On!
We will be lighting up the town centre in our annual Christmas event, which this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before!
From 2pm, the Market Square will come alive with the sights, sounds and flavours of Christmas. Enjoy live music, browse a wonderful selection of festive food and crafts, warm up with mulled wine, and let the little ones enjoy the children’s fairground rides.
Keep an eye out for a very special visitor, as Father Christmas arrives later in the afternoon to help count down to the big moment. At 6pm, we’ll unveil Wilton’s brand-new Christmas lights, transforming the town into a magical winter wonderland.
The celebrations continue with the traditional Nativity, festive carol singing accompanied by the Royal British Legion Band, and performances from Sarum Morris dancers.
Many of Wilton’s shops, cafés and businesses will also be staying open until 8pm, giving you even more opportunity to enjoy the festive atmosphere and find some Christmas treats.

Travelling to Wilton
To help keep the town centre festive and congestion-free, we encourage visitors to walk, cycle or use public transport wherever possible.
During the event, buses that would normally stop in the Market Square will instead serve a temporary stop on Minster Street, between Kingsbury Square and Russell Street.
If you’re travelling by car, free parking is available at South Street Car Park and at Castle Meadow Pavilion. We’re also grateful to Wilton Village, who have kindly made their car park available for event visitors. As an added bonus, the shops at Wilton Village will be staying open until 8pm, giving you even more opportunity to enjoy an evening of festive shopping.
