Christmas Contractors Appointed
At June’s meeting of the full Town Council, Councillors appointed contractors for our Christmas Light scheme 2026.
We’re delighted to be working with Blachere Illumination UK Ltd, a nationally recognised company, who will be supplying and installing a brand new scheme of Christmas lights across the town centre this year.
We’ll also be working with locally-based Radiquip Media Services Ltd to help organise the Christmas Light switch on event. We’ll be keeping a number of the traditional Wilton festive favourites, and working with our local groups and traders as we have done in previous years, but this year the event will be bigger and better than ever before!

Castle Meadow Works: Contractor Appointed
Councillors also appointed Marshway Construction Ltd to undertake the improvement works at Castle Meadow. The first phase of the works include improvements to the Pavilion compound, including increasing the storage shared by the Town Council, Wilton Men’s Shed, Wilton Carnival, our flood wardens and other community and sports groups.
The next steps are to ensure the necessary permissions are obtained and to finalise detailed plans for this area.
Works to improve the car park area will take place as part of Phase 2 which is planned for later this year. We are continuing our discussions on this phase of work, and these will be used to draw up the necessary plans for this area too, subject to Full Council approval.
